Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Most people in America are totally unaware about why few pastors or church leaders ever discuss politics. In early American history our government body consisted almost entirely of Christians and political discourse was something that was the norm in churches throughout this land. That was until the IRS was established and they were able to get the churches of America to surrender their Constitutional rights by registering their churches with the IRS. That little sleight of hand move allowed the IRS to essentially strip the churches of their right to free speech. Presidential Trump has said he will do everything in his power to abolish this provision.
